After all these years, GameCube is finally coming to Nintendo Switch Online with the release of the Nintendo Switch 2. This exclusive service will strongly bolster the Switch 2’s launch library by giving players access to some of the most iconic games in both Nintendo and gaming history. F-Zero GX, The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker, and SoulCalibur II will all be coming to Switch Online with special upgrades just for the Switch 2.
F-Zero GX is considered one of the best high-speed arcade racing games of all time. Challenge others and yourself to beat laps in the fastest time possible – or get caught up in the dust.
The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker is a staple RPG and is considered by some Zelda fans to be the best game in the series. Sail across a flooded Hyrule in this unique and colorful Zelda experience, and uncover what secrets the old world left behind.

Finally, SoulCalibur II is my personal favorite fighting game of all time. This game has been and continues to be a legendary entry that will draw competitors for decades past its initial run. This release will help revitalize that community once more, giving a new medium to play and for new players to find each other and compete. It’s a tale of souls and sword, eternally retold. Will you fight to destroy Soul Edge, or it tempt you into corruption as you seize its power for yourself?

The Nintendo Switch 2 comes out June 5th 2025, which is just over two months from the time of this article’s release. That will also be the day GameCube launches on the Switch Online service. In the future, look for more iconic titles to come. Some of these include Pokemon Colosseum, Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness, Chibi Robo, and Luigi’s Mansion. If you want to go further and play these games with the feel of the original controller, Nintendo will also be selling a new wireless GameCube controller.

Are you excited for these nostalgic releases? What about some of the new titles coming to Switch 2? Keep riding the hype train with us as we wait for the console price to be revealed later today.
